Remember the $12 million of new funding that GetGlue managed to close? This was a huge stepping stone for GetGlue, but ever wondered what they are planning to do with it? Well we can now answer that.
This article from Social Times mentions:
1) GetGlue will be rolling out more personalization through “guide” features
2) There would an update for iPad and Android apps
These two plans for GetGlue are probably just the brief pictures of what they are doing with the money. However, we would like to note a couple of other important factors. First consider the following:
The number of US mobile users through smartphones will increase at compounded annual rate. If we analyze this table [below] deeper, all the people in the United States will be using smartphones soon since the % change of mobile phone users is greater than % change of population.
Hence, in addition to some of their strategies, we believe GetGlue should take more action on updating smartphone applications so it would be more user-friendly such as fixing some features that malfunction on the mobile-phone. Those malfunctions are like their “like” button, which does not work and their complaints that their chat or the application itself just crashing while users use it.
Fixing this would not only attract new customers to use GetGlue, but it may help maintain their current users as well. With more people that are engaged in GetGlue, GetGlue may even attract more angel investors in the future thus more contracts may even result through more TV networks and movie studios.
